Actividades en Nuevo Vallarta

Villa VaraderoEn Villa Varadero contamos con diferentes actividades para toda la familia, entre ellas tenemos la caminata familiar.

Regularmente esta caminata matutina se organiza los días jueves, un día antes se anuncia en las carteleras del hotel y nuestro coordinador de actividades les avisa a los huéspedes para que estén listos para acompañarnos temprano.

La caminata comienza a las 10:00 am,  se reúnen los huéspedes interesados en el lobby delNuevo Vallarta hotel y nuestro coordinador “Jozimar” empieza  el recorrido llevándonos a la Marina de Nuevo Vallarta.

En el trayecto, se puede ir observando algo de la vida marina como peces barracuda y agujas, también se pueden contemplar las embarcaciones que se encuentran en la marina las cuales son  desde lanchas, veleros y grandes yates.

Durante el camino nos podemos encontrar con iguanas, cangrejos  y tal vez cocodrilos yaNuevo Vallarta que tenemos una vasta población protegida de estos, en los canales de la región, mientras avanzamos, Jozimar nos va explicando las características de estos animales  y  se pueden tomar maravillosas fotografías.

Llegando al final de la Marina de Nuevo Vallarta,  nos encontramos con las instalaciones de Vallarta Adventures quienes muy amablemente nos dejan pasar a ver su área de aves. Ahí se tiene laVallarta Adventure oportunidad de interactuar con las cacatúas y  cotorros que son muy divertidos e interesantes, también nos dan acceso para ver a los lobos y leones marinos, focas  y
delfines.

Si tenemos suerte vamos a poder ver el show  del león marino haciendo suertes con la pelota  al igual que a los delfines mientras los entrenan.

Lo más maravilloso de esto es que es sin costo alguno yNuevo Vallarta claro, si se animan y quieren nadar con los delfines o agarrar un tour,  pueden comprar  algunos de los paquetes que se ofrecen, son estupendas experiencias que les recomendamos mucho hacer.

Al igual durante la marcha verán que en la marina están los taxis acuáticos, las lanchas privadas y los paseos por los canales, también son algunas de las  actividades que pueden aprovechar cuando vengan a Nuevo Vallarta.

En la Rivera Nayarit, es difícil aburrirse, en realidad siempre hay alguna actividad para los grandes, jóvenes  y  pequeños de toda la familia,  cuando vengan a Villa Varadero estén al pendiente de la cartelera de actividades.

Nuevo VallartaPart of Riviera Nayarit is a beach destination that has plans for further development: Nuevo Vallarta. With just over 3 miles of wide beaches and fine sand, it extends from the Ameca River (Nuevo Vallarta’s border with Puerto Vallarta) to Flamingos.

Nuevo Vallarta is an ideal destination for sole travelers, families and couples, large groups or small. There is always something going on for each person’s interest.

In recent years, there has been an important evolution in our area, both withinNuevo Vallarta infrastructure and services. There are now hotels in all categories as well as a variety of selections in restaurants, shops, golf courses, marinas, cultural events, tours and attractions.

Nuevo Vallarta’s location is ideal, only 15 minutes from the Puerto Vallarta International Airport (PVR), 20 minutes from the city limits of Puerto Vallarta, 12 minutes from Bucerias, and 40 minutes to Punta de Mita. In addition, the municipality of Bahia de Banderas (Banderas Bay) offers shopping centers, cinemas, convenience stores, pharmacies, banks, etc.

Getting to Nuevo Vallarta is easy:

By air: Arrive at the Puerto Vallarta (PVR) airport and then take a taxi or city bus directly Nuevo Vallartato Nuevo Vallarta. (There are plenty of sales people shouting out offers just after Customs and before the airport exit, so unless you need a new car or hotel reservation, walk past them to the end of the line near the exit and ask for a taxi or information for the bus.)

By car or bus: If you drive toward Puerto Vallarta, get off Highway 200 and follow signs for Nuevo Vallarta. There are also several bus lines that travel to Puerto Vallarta, some stop at the terminal Mezcales in Nuevo Vallarta, which is located less than 5 minutes by car/taxi from Hotel Villa Varadero.

Whales in VallartaYear after year, the Humpback whale has chosen Banderas Bay as an ideal place to mate and give birth. Each winter the whales visit us from early December until early April while migrating south from the cold waters of Alaska and Canada. You may be able to get a view of these magnificent animals during your stay this winter!

The best way to see them is aboard a boat that specializes in whale watching. The staff atHotel Villa Varadero‘s Reception desk can recommend several local tour operators who have whale watching options.

If you’re keep to take one of these boat tours, you’ll have the opportunity to see groups of active whales. Most of them are groups in courtship where there is usually a single female among several males. These herds are always very active because they are designed to mate with the female at any cost, which often creates fights among males to demonstrate their strength and power. The winner is whoever gets the female and stays with her for several days. An interesting fact about whale courtship and mating is the songs that the male sings to the female, which are striking and pleasant to hear.

Whales in Banderas baySomething that touches our heart is seeing the whales with their calves. The whales give the calves their full attention and care. Normally, a young calf needs the help of its mother who makes sure that the calf does not sink by putting it on her back and helping it surface for air.

The relationship between a Humpback whale and its calf is very strong, as you’d probably imagine. The calf and mother stay together throughout the first year. Hopefully, you will be able to see them at dawn, close to the coast where there are many currents and waves. This is the type of area where the whales learn to do jumps and spins.

  • The Humpback, like all whales, belongs to the species “Cetaceans”
  • Scientific name is “Yubarta”
  • Each can measure up to 63 feet
  • Average weight is 40 tons
  • Humpback is a protected species
  • Gestation period lasts from 11-11.5 months
  • Feed only on krill and fish like herring shoal
  • Can be found in the Arctic and Antarctic polar regions during the summer months

El Anclote at Riviera Nayarit

el ancloteEl Anclote is a public beach located at the north end of Banderas bay, and can be accessed at Punta Mita.

The beach has fine white sand, and the water is clear with rocks below. One of the activities that El Anclote is most known for is surfing, especially beginners surfing, because it has five points at which the waves break. Besides being a great place to surf, there are other activities like kayaking, paddle surfing, snorkeling, parasailing, and boat rides.

El Anclote is primarily a fishing village, which gives you the opportunity to go fishing by renting these services from any of the providers in the area.

One of the things we like best about El Anclote is its proximity to the Marietas Islands. OnIslas marietas the beach you can hire a boat to go around the islands, admiring the many birds that habitat there and once there you can go diving or snorkeling. It really is a great experience.

Something special about El Anclote is that it is at the tip from where whales enter the Bay, and whales can be seen from here throughout whale-watching season. There are special trips for whale watching during the winter months.

To get there, head north from Villa Varadero (Nuevo Vallarta), take the Federal Highway 200. After a while you will see an exit for Cruz de Huanacaxtle and Punta Mita, take that exit and at the end of this road is El El AncloteAnclote. It’s about a 40 minute drive from Villa Varadero.

Also, El Anclote has good restaurants to eat and drink at, as part of enjoying a wonderful day!
